PAC Meeting HighlightsPAC Meeting, Nov 2nd, 2009. With a healthy balance in the general fund raising account, parents at the meeting voted in favor of funding a number of technology upgrades for the school including 3 smart boards, a new overhead projector for the computer lab, computer tables for the library and an LCD/TV/DVD player, as well as drama and hip-hop classes for the whole school that will take place later in the school year. The PAC Exec thanked the Quebec Exchange Committee, the Grade 7s and their parents for their fabulous hosting of the Halloween Haunt and Burt announced the dates are set for the Quebec exchange - Rochebelle students will be visiting April 15th to 23rd and our Grade 7s leave for Quebec on May 6th, returning May17th. The Parents at Lunch program is going strong, but volunteers are always appreciated. If you can spare a lunch time to help supervise lunchtime activities for elementary students (Grades 1, 2 and 3) in the playground at the front of the school, you get to jump rope, play hockey or draw with chalks! Just show up, or contact our parent lead Arne Mackenrot (contact info available via infoecolebilingue[at]gmail.com) Finally, we are happy to announce the formation of the L'École Bilingue PAC Sustainability Committee. Janet Webber gave an eloquent presentation of their goals and planned events. We hope the whole school will get on-board to help foster awareness and appreciation for our planet and the impact our choices have on our kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and future generations. Full minutes of the meeting will be distributed via e-mail and on the web-site. |
